I finally did it. I got a gym membership. WHOOP WHOOP. I have been to the gym three times this week, but have only worked out twice. On the first day Kenna wasn’t super excited about the gym daycare. We went into the daycare room to check it out and she wanted me to stay and play with her. After a five minute conversation with a two year old (which feels like 2o minutes) we decided that we were going to go home and come back another day to try it again. The next day we went and it was a success. The girls stayed in the gym daycare for about an hour. I ran 3 miles, biked 10 minutes, and stretched. Heck Yes, I could get used to this. I am pretty excited about it.
There are a lot of things I am looking forward to with our gym membership.
- Going to group fitness classes
- Taking Kenna swimming
- Stretching- when I run at home I do not stretch. Most of the time I run when Trav gets home from work so I do a quick run and immediately start making dinner when I get home.
- Discounts on swimming lessons
- Maybe joining their 5k race series
- Getting workouts done in the morning so I do not have to stress about it all day
- Fun activities for Kenna
Today at the gym they had set up a bouncy house, a bouncy obstacle course, and some tubes to crawl through. AKA, heaven for toddlers. I am so happy we accidentally stumbled upon this. The girls and I, had no idea that it was set up, and when we peaked in the gym it was filled with bouncy play sets. Kenna was literally galloping around fist pumping in the air saying “yes”, “yes”, “yes”. On the we way out I also discovered the gym has coffee with yummy mocha mint creamer. Score! I am always up for more coffee 😉
