What a busy weekend. Holidays keep getting better and better as Kenna gets older. She is always so excited to get together with the family. On Friday, we went to the neighboring towns festival. We met my some of my sisters, nephews, and my mom at a restaurant. After we ate some delicious food, the chicken nachos were amazing, we took the kids to the carnival. Kenna chose to go on the tilt-a-whirl with the big kids and didn’t enjoy it. Luckily another little boy wanted to get off in the middle so Kenna was able to get off as well. I think next time we will stick to her favorite rides, the carousal and the cars.
After that we all hung out on the grass by the river until it got dark. Finally the fireworks started and Kenna loved them. Strangely Emmy loved them more. She couldn’t take her eyes off of them. She didn’t even flinch at the big booms.
The next day we packed up and headed to Trav’s parents cabin for a couple of days. We went swimming, grilled, and played outside in the lawn. It was so nice to relax and catch up on some sleep. We ended up cutting the trip short because I forgot the rest of Emmy’s formula at home. Note to self- Do not pack for the girls when I am extremely tired. I hope everyone had a fun filled 4th of July. We loved our sparklers, glow necklaces, and our right and white and blue and are thankful for our all soldiers do.
